He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Doty and Irene Doty (Moore); his sister Catherine; and his grandson CJ. He is survived by: his wife Connie; and his children, William Doty (Kaneka) of Orleans, Suzanne Mahoney (Donal) of Ionia and Charles Eady (Dana) of Coral.

Memorials may be given to the Belding Museum.
