She was predeceased by: her parent Lila Jean Brighton. She is survived by: her husband Mark; her children, Jason Mead (Hilary), Taylor Mead and Boston Mead; her siblings, Butch Brighton (Ola), Gary Brighton (Lisa), Ronnie Brighton (Kathy) and Donnie Brighton (Elaine); and her grandchildren, Jovyn, Lila and Violet. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

“Darlene was a special person and good friend of my wife Kelly Smith at Onsted. They had similar outgoing personalities and were always fun to be around together. I recall they went down to Florida together in the spring of 1983 to hang out in the sun together on the gulf coast. While Kelly passed away 10 years ago, after battling illness, she loved their time together. I am truly sorry for your loss and while I will not be in MI for services I will keep you all in my prayers !”
