He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Chowen (Dunham) and Daniel Wesley Cecil Chowen; his brothers, Richard "Dick" and Allan; his siblings-in-law, Paul Ross, John "Jack" King, Victor King, Judy Decker, Sharon Williams and Carla King; and his aunt Hattie Parr.
He is survived by: his wife Arlette King; his children, Steve Chowen (LeaAnne), Julie Chowen (Jesús Argente), Yvonne Patterson (Tim), Matthew Chowen (Tanya) and Jennifer Chowen Plowman (Shon); his grandchildren, Ashlee Cowles (Jordan), Haylee Chowen, Mollee Fishaw (Zach), Jacob Patterson (Lydia), Joe Patterson (Aimee), Jeff Patterson, Jared Chowen, Hollee Rodgers (Arrick), Kaelee Hawkins (Lee), Akron Plowman and Kade Plowman; his great grandchildren, Sophia, James, Charlotte, Luke, Ben, Declan, Morgan, Arwen, Reilly, Isla, Jack, Oliver, Archer and Chance; his sister Rhoda Ross; and his sister-in-law Darlene Nuss (Dick). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial contributions in his memory are appreciated to the American Legion Post 317, Onaway, MI, in honor of his sons more than 42 years of service.
