He is survived by: his wife Christine Thorsen; his children, Patti Nolde (Blair) of Onaway, Allan Hoffmeyer (Barbara) of Onaway, Earl Hoffmeyer Jr. (Diane) of Onaway and Kelli Anderson (Bob) of Onaway; his grandchildren, Jeremy Wendt (Stephanie) of Rogers City, Jeffrey Wendt of Rogers City, Tiffany Traynham of Allegan, Joe Traynham of Onaway, Lacey Merschback (Jacob) of Royal Oak, Collin Hoffmeyer (Emily) of Onaway, Randy Hoffmeyer (Katie) of Wausau, Andy Hoffmeyer of Millersburg, Amanda Tallman (Daniel) of Lake Orion, Rachel Kitchen (Matt) of Clinton Township, Britney of Onaway, Brooklyn Hoffmeyer of Onaway and Megan Skinner of Auburn; and his siblings, Allan of Onaway, Jay (Denise) of Onaway, Florence Newsted of Fremont, Elsie Smith of Brighton, Thelma Curtis (Aaron) of Onaway and Darlene Homkes (Rick) of Russiaville, Indiana. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests donations to honor Earl be made to the Onaway United Methodist Church or McLaren Home Care and Hospice.
