He was predeceased by: his parents, Irving Russell and Mary Russell; his daughter Judy Langridge; and his siblings, Ruth Van Lieuw, Maxine Baker, Audrey Rice and Willis Russell.

He is survived by: his spouses, Steve Langridge and Anita Russell of Olivet; his children, Jan Russell (Matthew Taylor) of Olivet, Joe Russell II (Angela) of Olivet, John Russell of Olivet and Joni White (Will) of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Daniel Corralez (Angela Porter), Justin Corralez, Joshua Russell (Kelly), Jordan Russell (Casey) and Zach Russell; his great grandchildren, Audrey Russell, Amelia Russell, Kaius Russell and Keion Adams; and his sisters, Marianna Wells and Barbara Gellasch (Richard). He is also survived by mom began to say "No thanks!" He always drove an Allis Chalmer tractor and located and restored several for his sons and grandson.
