He is survived by: his children, George Richard Elmer, III of Bellevue, Amanda Marie Curren (Eli) of Greer and Steffanie Kay Elmer of Olivet; his grandchildren, Maygon Elmer, Mirian Elmer, Madison Elmer, George R. Elmer IV, Isabelle Simpson, Abigail Curren and Kathryn Curren; his great grandchild Katie Fetterman; and his brothers, Cassidy Obtande and Richard Elmer.
