He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Ferdinand and Marian Happel (Leighton) of Poe Valley, VA; his wife Velma Carlene Hilt of Old Mission, MI; his brother Richard Hilt (Sandra) of Colorado Springs, CO; his children, Robert Maxwell (Virginia) of Blacksburg, VA, Don Randal of Old Mission, MI, Marian Wood (Mark) of Cedar Springs, MI, James Hilt II (Julie) of Gaylord, MI and Allison Cline (Steve) of Allen Park, MI.; his grandchildren, Steven Cline of Allen Park, Nathan Maxwell (Bree) of Phoenix, AZ, Ray Cline (Angela) of Allen Park, Mitch Bearden (Carley) of Gouverneur, NY, Cheyenne Hilt of Gaylord, Rachel Wood of Southhaven, MS, Elise Sanford (Jeff) of Cedar Springs, James Hilt III of Gaylord, Sierra Hilt of Petoskey, MI and Brittany Rondo (Justin) of Johannesburg, MI.; his brother William C Hilt; and his grandson Ezra Maxwell. He was also cherished by kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and friends.
His life and marriage were built on a foundation of strong faith in Jesus Christ, serving the lord leading worship services, as Sunday school teacher, Deacon, and with the Gideons.
