He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Albert Schmiege and Bertha Schmiege; his children, Monte Schmiege (Eileen) of West Bend, Gloria Glowicki (Terry) of Mayville, Timothy Schmiege (Jan) of Big Lake and Arthur Schmiege (Catherine) of Chesaning, Michigan; his wife Betty; and his grandson Pastor David Mielke. He was also cherished by his twelve grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
