He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Bennett and Arlen Bennett (Duprey); his former wives, Kay Bennett and Pat; his son James Harmon; his granddaughter Brandi; and his brother Don Bennett.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Bennett; and his children, Connie Kinney (Jim), Michael Bennett (Beth), Luann Alexander (Wayne), Russell Bennett (Lori), Lisa Devereaux, Patrick Harmon and Sandy Bennett (Mike). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren.
