He is survived by : his parents, Edward L. Thiel and Colleen J. Thiel (Lamrouex) of Oakley; his children, Daniel L. Thiel II of Ovid, Chloe Mae Thiel of Ovid, Anthony Edward Thiel of Ovid and Alexander Michael Thiel of Ovid; his wife Monica Thiel of Chesaning; his siblings, Edward Thiel (Connie) of Chesaning, Brandi Thiel of Chesaning and Andrew Thiel of Bowling Green, Ohio; and his pet Tommy. He is also survived by three nieces and a nephew.

Visitation was held on Sunday, June 9th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Misiuk Funeral Home (202 S Front St, Chesaning, MI 48616).
