With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Debra Mae Benkert (Nunica, Michigan), born in Grand Haven, Michigan, who passed away on January 9, 2023 at the age of 66. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Debra Mae Benkert to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Benkert and Doris Benkert; and her brother Jerry Benkert. She is survived by: her daughter Cori Merlo (Gypsy); her grandchildren, Zachary, Dylan and Rylin; her siblings, Doug Benkert (Carolyn), Carl Benkert, Ed Benkert (Wayne), Pat Benkert (Sandy), Craig Benkert (Heather), Lynnette Gavin (Jerry) and Barb Syrek (Dan); and her son-in-law Rich. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces & nephews; the many children she was a mother figure to; as well as, many cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Harbor Hospice.
