He was loved and cherished by many people including: his siblings, Sam (Virginia), Irene (Glen) and Helen; his grandchildren, Julie (David IV), Kristy (Jonathan), William and Michael (Megan); his great grandchildren, Aubrey, Emma, Anna and Ryan; his grandchildren, Tammy (Paul) and David II (Lisa); his great grandchildren, Maizie, Jack, Lily, David III and Camden; his grandchildren, Rachelle, Katy (Nicholas), Jacob and Robert; his great grandchild Bryce; his grandchildren, Danielle (Levi), Matthew and Mark; his parents, Samuel Mika and Julia Mika; and his wife Lola Mae Bilyeu of Dearborn. He was also cherished by his wife of 70 years and the legacy of their four children, thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
