He was predeceased by : his parents, Stewart Calkins and Carrie Calkins (Armstrong); his wife Lois Ann (VanGinkle); his daughter Marchia DelForge; his granddaughter Stephanie; his great grandchild Salem; his children-in-law, Kathy Calkins and Rick McDonald; and his siblings, Elsie Wallace, Ruth Anglemyer and Vernon Calkins.

He is survived by : his children, Roland Calkins (Marie) of Aurora, WI, Merlin Calkins (Julia) of Kingsford, Loren Calkins (Lenore) of Keizer, Norman Calkins (Jessica Dean) of Kingsford and Raylene McDonald (Tom Boltz) of Crandon, WI; and his grandchildren, Tracie, Travis, Arminda, R. Evan, Celeste, Zachary, Abigail, Hannah, Jessica, Ashley, Mark, Matthew and Bradley. He is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 8th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Evangelical Covenant Church (120 O Dill Dr, Norway, MI 49870). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, July 8th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
