He was predeceased by: his parents, Akseli Lakanen and Ida Lakanen (Kurtti); his wife Bernice Lakanen; his daughter Roberta Klukos; and his siblings, Roy, William, Clifford, Paul, Ruth, Dorothy and Catherine.
He is survived by: his son John; his grandchildren, David, Stephen, Natalie, Claire, Jennifer, Laura, Kelly and Amy; and his son-in-law Henry Klukos, Jr..
