He was predeceased by: his parents, DeForest Rector and Myrtle Rector (Brower); his brothers, John Rector and Dave Rector; and his sisters-in-law, Jerry (Tom) and Ada Rector (Dave).

He is survived by: his wife Marilyn (Pike); his children, Lora French, Stuart (Tammy), Reed (Ann) and Mark Rector (Cyndi); and his brother Thomas Rector. He is also survived by husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest enjoyment came from time spent with family as well as traveling with his family, as a couple with Marilyn, and also with his good friends.
