He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerben Hamstra and Rose Hamstra (Walstra); his sister Norma Ooms; his parents-in-law, Andrew and Mae Bandstra; and his sisters-in-law, Barbara Newman and Ruth Bandstra.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Bandstra; his sons, Philip Hamstra (Kara), Joel Hamstra (Annie) and Daniel Hamstra; his grandchildren, Ryker and Lincoln; his siblings, Anna Mae Heerema (John), Eileen Toppen (Jim) and Albert Hamstra (Mindy); and his parents-in-law, Ken Ooms (Judy), Nancy Stob (Dick), Mary Ippel (Bob), Barry Newman and Ruth VanGrouw Bandstra. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
