He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray L. Stapel and Verle H. Stapel (Gonyo); his wife Dorothy Huston; and his brother Harry Stapel. He is survived by: his close friend MaryAnn Loudermilk; his sister Donna Rinckey; and his sisters-in-law, Geraldine Stapel and Joyce Gomez of Missouri. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
