He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Bronsema and Hilda Bronsema (Bultema); his wife Barbara Patterson; and his sisters, Ruth Stivenga, Bessie Smith, Jennie Pierce, Kate Cooper, Betty Daniels and Winnie Bronsema.
He is survived by: his friends, Bob and Mary Ann Page; his children, Susan Heethuis (Thomas) of Traverse City and James Bronsema (Sheryle) of Muskegon; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Heethuis (Emy), Megan Heethuis, Nicholas Bronsema (Sarah) and Stacy Skiba (Ryan); and his great grandchildren, Jarrod, Catelyn, Lola Heethuis, Harper, Finnleigh Bronsema, Sawyer and Claire Skiba.
Memorial Contributions in John's name may be donated to the Hospice of North Ottawa Community, Mona Shores Sailor Classic or Muskegon Big Red Athletic Foundation.
