He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Schaap and Eleanor Schaap (Mervenne); his sister Jennifer Correll; and his parents-in-law, James and Joan Coleman.
He is survived by: his daughters, Brooke and Lauren; his wife Carole (Coleman); his children, Aaron Hein and Nic Tarzwell; his grandchildren, Carson, Peyton Hein, Coleman and Briggs Tarzwell; and his brother Steve Schaap (Leslie). He is also survived by many other family members, teammates, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jim's memory may be made to Grand Valley State University Football.
