It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gordy Scripps (Norton Shores, Michigan), born in Lowell, Michigan, who passed away on January 18, 2019, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wives, Shirley A. Scripps (Ketcham) and RuthAnn Buurma Scripps (Rottschafer); his parents, Jerry Scripps and Jenny Scripps (Witvoet); his brothers, Jim Scripps, Ky Scripps and John N. Scripps; and his daughter-in-law Jane A. Scripps.
He is survived by: his children, John Patrick Scripps (Angela), Debbie L. Keenan (David), Wendy S. Yamaoka (Alan) and Jerry A. Scripps (Sally); his stepchildren, Dirk Buurma (Randi), Barbara Baas (Jack), Connie Buurma and Ben Buurma; his sister Peg Potter; his grandchildren, Ben Scripps, Chris Scripps, Greg Keenan (Tiffany), Koti Post (Ryan), Sarah Woodring (Ira), Andy Yamaoka, Jennifer Barr (Justin), Tommy Yamaoka (Lauren), Kristi Yamaoka, Joe Scripps, Cameron Scripps, Alexandra Scripps and Nick Scripps; and his stepgrandchildren, Carmen Baas, Kelly Baas, Bradley Buurma and Lindsay Buurma.
