He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack A. Lorenz and Reta R. Lorenz (Musil). He is survived by: his wife Susan Vallier; his son Justin Drake; his granddaughter Lillian Drake; his siblings, Mike Lorenz (Georgia), Rich Lorenz and Peggy Sue Lorenz; and his close friend Steve Marshall.
