He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Shaffer and Martha Shaffer (Helms); and his sister Norma Kurtz. He is survived by: his wife Nora L. Sylvester; his children, Scott Shaffer (Kelly), Shelley Kelley (William), Stacy Tong (Nik) and Shari Ralston (Brad); his grandchildren, Kelsey Helstowski (Jeff), Elise Van De (Alex), Mackenzie, Morgan Ralston, Brandon and Brooke Tong; and his great grandchildren, Kinsley and Anistyn. He is also survived by niece and nephew and many close friends.
