He is survived by: his children, Gail Carolan (Sean), Kathleen Ceci and James Robert Jr. Matties (Gloria); his grandchildren, Jessica, Rachael, Amanda, Rebecca, Katie, Joe, James, Jason, Johnny and Jeffrey; and his siblings, Howard Matties (Sue), Lillybell Matties and Dudley Matties (Margaret). He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
