He was predeceased by: his parents, William Carey and Ruth Carey (Valentine). He is survived by: his wife Janice Carey (Smith); his sons, Jefferson Carey (Danetta) of Mount Pleasant and Daniel Carey of Charleston, Illinois; his stepchildren, Cheri Kulwicki (Danny) of Three Rivers and Craig Thompson (Michele) of Niles; his grandchildren, Gary Driver, Ariel Driver, Robin Carey, Daniel Kulwicki III (Athena), Krista Kulwicki-Bizjak (Joe Bizjak), Katie Kulwicki, Christopher Thompson (Holly), Ashlyn Thompson and Ashlee Pellico; his sister Lee Ann Carey-Fedeli of Minneapolis; and his niece Angie Heyne. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
