He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sr. VanDenBerg and Henrietta VanDenBerg; his brothers, John VanDenBerg, Jr. and Jay VanDenBerg; and his stepson Kevin Borkholder.
He is survived by: his wife Marty VanDenBerg; his children, Rachael VanDenBerg of North Carolina and Jeff VanDenBerg of Niles; his stepchildren, Randy Borkholder of Elkhart, Larry Borkholder of Columbia City and Retha Peterson of Nappanee, Indiana; his granddaughter Ava; his stepgrandchildren, Kenneth Peterson, Lindsey Peterson, Charles Borkholder, Elaina Borkholder and Loren Borkholder; his stepgreat-grandson Sebastian; his brother Morrie VanDenBerg (Helen) of Sodus; and his pet Brandy. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
