It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorthy Odell Depriest of Niles, Michigan, who passed away on September 2, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmo Pope and Loula Mae Pope (McWherther); and her siblings, James Lewis Mackem, Willie Martin, Jr. and Billie Mae McWherther.
She is survived by: her children, Derrick Depriest of Niles, Barrick Depriest of Niles, Brandon Depriest of Niles, Joe Depriest, Jr. of Niles, Marshall Depriest of Benton Harbor, Tony Depriest of Kalamazoo, Roland "Willie" Depriest of Ionia, Drew Depriest of Benton Harbor, Michael Carl "Cookie" Depriest, Raymond Depriest and Steve Depriest; her siblings, Leslie Martin of Martin and Ruby Rogers of Rockford; and her aunt Daisy Farmer. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
