He is survived by: his mother Betty Ward Wakes; his brother Mitchell Ward (Deanna); his children, Cory Mayes Jr., Cortland Mayes, Corise Mayes, Corinthian Mayes and Corly'Ja Mayes; his grandchildren, Cormoni, Cory III, Knyla, Uniqua, Cortland Jr., Bryson and Ca'Myla; his nephews, Juawan and Rishon; his aunts, Denise Palmer of Indianapolis, IN and Clara Ward (Washington, DC); his uncle Kenny Palmer of South Bend, IN; his cousins, Michael Davidson of Atlanta, GA, Aaron and Clifton Quinn of South Bend, IN; and his goddaughter IlyAayna Terry.
