He was predeceased by: his parents, Bruno Matteocci and Vienna Matteocci (Caratelli). He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Matteocci of Newport, Michigan; his sons, Louie Matteocci (Denise) of Dearborn, Michael Matteocci (Kim) of Newport, David Matteocci (Arlene) of Denver and Mark Matteocci (Yuri) of Chelsea, Michigan; his sister Marina Diretti (Massimo) of Rome, Italy; his grandchildren, Craig, Cristen, Amber, Michael, Marina, Jade and Luna; his great grandchild Emersyn; and his nephews, Daniele and Danilo Diretti.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 5th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A rosary was held on Friday, January 5th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Merkle Funeral Service (2442 N Monroe St, Monroe, MI 48162). The lying in state was held on Saturday, January 6th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church (8125 Swan Creek Rd, Newport, MI 48166). A Mass was held on Saturday, January 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions in honor of Luigi are suggested to the St. Jude's Children Hospital.
