He was predeceased by: his parents, Dempsey Newsome and Velma Newsome (Adkins); and his sister Jennifer Welch. He is survived by: his wife Jenny Blakesley; his daughter Heather Schwemmin (Perry) of LaSalle, MI; his stepchildren, Angelia Robinson of Newport, MI and Richard Lee Robinson; his siblings, Allen Newsome of Monroe, Doug Newsome of Milan, MI, James Newsome (Judy) of Carleton, MI, Johnny Newsome (Linda) of Carleton, MI, Milfred Newsome (Maria) of Newport, MI and Juanita Payette (Brian) of Lincoln Park, MI; and his granddaughters, Julia and Sophia Schwemmin.
