He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Charter; his granddaughter Cassie Matt; and his brothers, James Charter, Frederick Charter, Earl Charter, Gaylon Charter and Richard Charter.
He is survived by: his children, Sharon Farr, Christina Matt (Edward) and Jamie Charter; and his brother Wayne Charter (Kathy). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
