Carol Schmidt Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Schmidt of Newberry, Michigan, who passed away on June 26, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard McTiver and Dean McTiver (Sandison); her husband Harry (Mickey); her children, Rebecca Bawkon and Jan Schmidt; her grandsons, Ryan Schmidt and Thaddeus Bawkon; and her sons-in-law, John Lundquist and Ken Hamlin.
She is survived by: her sister Beth "Susie" Day of Fort Myers; her children, Ann Lundquist of St Clair Shores, Priscilla Hamlin of Kalamazoo and Michael Schmidt (Kathie) of Novi; and her children-in-law, Elise Schmidt of Charlevoix and Bruce Bawkon of Ann Arbor. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Newberry United Methodist Church or the Tahquamenon Education Foundation, in memory of Carol M. Schmidt.
