He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl V. Oberg and Helen M. Oberg (Wester); and his stepmother Sally Oberg (Heinemann). He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Cynthia Semon (David) of Kentwood and Brian Oberg of Newberry; his grandchildren, Jared Oberg, Sydnee Semon and Matthew Semon; and his brothers, Richard Oberg of Newberry and Donn Oberg of Newberry.
