Mark Alan Hoogerhyde Obituary
Mark Alan Hoogerhyde, 71, of Newaygo, MI, was welcomed peacefully into Heaven after a courageous battle with leukemia, on Thursday June 9, 2022, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mark was born on Tuesday, June 13, 1950, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Mark served as a Kent County Deputy for 31 years. He had won the meritorious award in 1979 and Deputy of the Year in 2002. He also proudly served in the United States Army, where he spent two years in Germany. Mark was a member of the Resonate church family for over 17 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, who especially enjoyed fishing but he was the best sport when his beautiful wife was throwing her parties! He loved to play euchre, certainly when at the VFW. Mark was a true gentleman. His cheerful and amicable disposition was sure to always leave a room better than prior to entering. He had a stellar sense of humor and was a humble and kind loving man who sported the patience of Job. The world is a little less today without Mark, but far better for him having been a part of it. He will be missed greatly by many.
Mark is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 41 years, Jackie Hoogerhyde; their children, Tamara and family, Tina and family; seven grandchildren; sister, Ann (Don) Postmus and their 3 children and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, David Hoogerhyde.
Mark's family invites you to a Memorial Visitation that will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022, 10:00 am - 11:00 am, followed by a Memorial Service and Military Honors starting at 11:00AM at Resonate Church, 302 E 68th St, Newaygo, MI 49337.
