He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Ford and Florence Ford (Newfer); his wife Meretta Gladys Ford; his sister Ruth Larevae; and his stepbrother Thomas Bodnar.

He is survived by: his children, Lawrence Maki (Mary) of Dorr, Howard Maki (Terri) of Newaygo, Robert Ford of Newaygo and Lauree Maki of Newaygo; his siblings, Raymond Ford of Grant and Erma Lucile Koehler of Grant; and his stepbrother Allen Bodnar of Detroit. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
