She was predeceased by: her parents, Bert Howard, and Maxine Howard, Jr. (Nielsen); and her husband Edwin "Red" Jay Pummel. She is survived by: her children, Collene Merritt (Carl), Arlene Vander Ploeg (Daniel) and Gregory Pummel (Angie); and her grandchildren, Erica O'Brien, Kacy Reed, Ryan Huismann (Sam) and Andrew Huismann (Allison). She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; 1 brother & 4 sisters; and by nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to AdvisaCare Home Health Hospice, where Irene received such great care and support from her nurse Liz.
