He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Knox and Vera Knox (Welch); his wife Sharon Knox; his son Jerry A. Knox; his close friend Shirley Fronzi; his siblings, Gerald, Gayle and Lois; and his close friend Cliff Sadler.

He is survived by: his sons, John Knox (Shelley), James Knox, Jeff Knox and Andy Knox (Nikki); his grandchildren, Jessica Timothy (Andy), Jacob Knox, Jocelyn Lopez and Troy Knox; his great grandchild Izabelle Timothy; his sister Marsha Brewer; his sister-in-law Jan Knox; and his close friend Mark Dinsmore. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
