It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Don Merritt Strohpaul of Newaygo, Michigan, born in Oscoda, Michigan, who passed away on April 5, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Merritt and Hazel Marjorie Strohpaul (Lindberg); his son Max Merritt Strohpaul; his daughter-in-law Doris; and his nephew Tim Purcell.
He is survived by: his wife Miriam Sterk Scott; his daughter Susan Cornell (Don) of Newaygo; his stepsons, Daniel Scott (Sheri) of Hudsonville and Brian Scott (Pamela) of Portage; his daughter-in-law Laura Jackson (Peter) of Grand Haven; his granddaughter Kate VanWyck (Brad); his great grandchildren, James, Harrison and Lucy; his granddaughter Christine Cornell Mendoza (Felix); his great grandchildren, Christopher Merritt, Natalie and Kaylee; his grandchildren, Lee Merritt Jackson and Kelsi Harthy (Dave); his great grandchild Otis; his grandchildren, Dale Jackson, Kyle Scott and Chad Scott (Brittany); his great grandchild Lila; and also Jane Porter (Wayne "Newt") of Fremont.
