He was predeceased by: his wife Ada; and his son Charles E. Butler. He is survived by: his parent Gladys Butler (Brown); his spouse Linda Lou West; his daughters, Susan Emery of Holland and Debra Atkins of Woodbury; his grandchildren, Stephen, Michael, Nathaniel, Jami, Samuel, Gabriel, Daniel, Dalton and Dillon; and his siblings, Mona Arlt of Traverse City and Everett Butler of Grafton. He is also survived by one niece and two nephews.
