He is survived by: his mother Blanche Akers of Mt. Clemens; his siblings, Nellie Hazely (Wendell) of Southfield, John M. Akers, Jr. of Los Angeles, Evelyn Green (Calvin) of Detroit, Martha Howard III (Link) of Macomb Twp and Luke Akers of New Haven; and his aunt Loretta Dilbert of New Haven. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
