He was predeceased by: his parents, Gare Westrate and Alberta Westrate (Sportel); his stepmother Mary Eleanor Price; and his brother-in-law Mike Worden. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie K. Sipsma; his children, Jacquelyn Lownds (Bruce), Douglas Westrate (Lori), Deryl Westrate (Jennifer) and Jill Smit (Randy); his grandchildren, Bonny Doctor (Randy), Schuyler Lownds (Catherine), Daniel Westrate (Alyssa), Luke Westrate (Samantha), Jamie Westrate, Jillian Winters (Travis), Samantha Justian (Ryan) and Erin Hill (Andrew); his great grandchildren, William "Liam", Molly, Julliette, Lucy, Jude, Jacob, Zoe, Avalyne, Calleigh, Payson, Ailah, Nora and Jack; and his siblings, Duane Westrate (Marge), Rev. Kenneth Westrate (Ruth) and Sally Worden. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
