She is survived by: her former husband Albert James; her children, Cathy Schmieding, Darrel James, Paul James, Lorraine Mitteer, Mark James and Mary Rapes; her husband Donald Gilchrist; her daughters, Judie Ewing and Francis Tice; and her sisters, Wanda Deur, Theda West and Judy VanArman. She is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
