He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Kerns, and Florence Kerns, Sr.; his wife Lillian Kerns; and his siblings, Doris, Polly, Elmer Jr. (Butch), William, Margaret and Vivian.
He is survived by: his children, Becky Hinshaw (Jeff) of Michigan City, IN and Robert Kerns, Jr. (Cindy) of Stevensville, MI; his grandchildren, Ryan Williams (Chrissy), Shawnna Wesolowski (Paul), Josh Kerns (Joy), Kristen Kerns (Jeff), Christopher Hinshaw (Tracey) and Nicole Hinshaw; and his great grandchildren, Ethan, Jack, John Williams, Jayda, Jordan Kerns, Marcin, Josey Kerns, Chase Hinshaw, Caselle Pavlack, Michael, Brian and Dan Wesolowski.
