He was predeceased by : his wife Dorothy Jean Stabile (Waldroup); his sister Rose; and his brother-in-law Jerry Kelly. He is survived by : his close friends, Tom and Beth Stanton; his daughters, Tracie McIntyre (Don) of Wamego and Jeanne Bade (Bill) of New Baltimore; his granddaughters, Kathryn Borg (Ryan) and Emily Stewart (Josh); his great grandchildren, Savannah, Elliana and Vivian; his brother Sal Stabile (Carole); and his sister-in-law June Kile of Madisonville, Tennessee. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
He was a longstanding member of the Anchor Bay Rotary, the Anchor Bay Chamber of Commerce and the Anchor Bay Community Foundation. Joe and Dorothy were original founding donors to Anchor Bay Community Foundation.
