She was predeceased by: her parents, Solomon Kangasluoma and Elin Kangasluoma (Hautakangas); her husband Norman L. Kellan; and her sons, David Louis and Norman Lee Kellan.

She is survived by: her daughter Cynthia K. Wuorenmaa (Randall J.) of Negaunee; her grandchildren, Jenifer K. Wuorenmaa Hollinger (Jonathan) of Lexington, KY, Jade N. Thomas (Jeremy) of Louisville, KY and Jarrett Kellan (Jill) of Appleton, WI; and her brother James Kangas (Geri) of Duluth, MN. She is also survived by several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Activity Fund at the Jacobetti Home for Veterans, 425 Fisher Street, Marquette, MI 49855 or Mitchell United Methodist Church, 207 N Teal Lake Avenue, Negaunee, MI 49866, in Ruth's memory.
