He is survived by: his wife Ruth Helen Ranta (Rintala); his children, Ray Ranta, Jr. (Bonnie) of Marquette and Katherine Russell of Naples, FL; his grandchildren, Mark Ranta (Dulcee) of Marquette, Aaron Ranta (Cortney) of Marquette, Amy Martin (Kyle) of Marquette, Garrett Russell (Laura) of Grand Rapids and Elise Russell of Naples, FL; his great grandchildren, Cole Ranta, Brett Ranta, Seth Martin, Caydence Ranta, Ty Martin, Ella Martin and Charlotte Ranta; his sisters, Peggy Nielsen of Milwaukee, WI and Pam Bessolo (Dale Watters) of Ishpeming; and also Patti. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
