It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Joan Parkkonen of Negaunee, Michigan, born in Ishpeming, Michigan, who passed away on March 24, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Wayne Parkkonen; her daughter Deborah Long (Ron); her granddaughter Wendy Long; her stepmother Ina Juchemich; and her half-siblings, Patrick Juchemich and Gaydyne Martin.
She is survived by: her pet Regis; her children, Raymond Peura (Geraldine), Kathleen Zorza (Greg), Ann Howell, James Peura (Deb), Janet Jylha (Dave) and Alan Peura (Jennifer); her siblings, Genevieve Hill, Beatrice Boersma (Tom), Lisa McGuire, Valerie Oja, Michael Juchemich (Patti), Stephen Juchemich and Therese Juchemich; and her friends, June Jarvi and Jean Manginen. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
