With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leonard A. Rukkila of Negaunee, Michigan, born in Escanaba, Michigan, who passed away on February 3, 2023 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugo Rukkila and Jennie Rukkila (Norlund); his wife Marcella "Marcy" Wester; his son Rodney; his grandson Rodney Leonard; his brother Neil Marvin Rukkila; and his siblings-in-law, Jerome Wester and Beverly Freeman.
He is survived by: his children, Christine Hendrickson (Daniel) of Negaunee, Bruce Rukkila (Patricia) of Houghton, Shelley Koski (Paul) of New London and David Rukkila (Patti) of Milan, MI; his daughter-in-law Dawna Rukkila (Rodney) of Fenton, MI; his siblings-in-law, Karen Perry (Vern) of Citrus Springs, FL and Jack Wester of Alger, MI; and his half-sister Loretta Kinnen (Jim) of Frazee, MN.. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
