With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Katherine Copley (Negaunee, Michigan), born in Ishpeming, Michigan, who passed away on September 14, 2019 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her stepmother Eileen Laveau; her grandchildren, Brooke Fountain and Mathew Gierke; her parents-in-law, Lawrence and Martha Copley; and her brother-in-law William Copley.
She is survived by: her husband Jim; her children, Mary Hermann (Dave) of Shelton, WA, Shirley Fountain (Bill) of Gwinn, Barbara Copley-Gierke (Bruce) of Anchorage, AK, Tina Locke (Dan) of Trenary, Nancy Nellist (Gary) of Gwinn, Lawrence J. Copley, Jr. (Misi) of Gwinn, Martha Diercks (Richard) of Gwinn, Rita Savola (Robert) of Gwinn, Theresa Andrews (Jeffrey) of Negaunee, David Copley (Patti) of Manitowoc, WI and Kathy Williams (Michael) of Kincheloe; her brother Walter Laveau (Helen); her stepsisters, Diane Dolinar and Joanne Van Dijk; and her siblings-in-law, Elaine Roos, Marilyn Ryan, Carol Steen (Errol), Patricia Cheslog (Arthur), Bob (Paula), Dick (Tanya) and Earl Copley (Gila). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in Katherine's memory to Lake Superiour Hospice.
