She was predeceased by: her parents, John Seppala and Mayme Seppala (Jurvelin); her husband Oliver Kainulainen; and her sisters, Betty Voldarski and Kathleen Seppala.
She is survived by: her sons, Oliver Kainulainen (Sandy) of Negaunee, Alan Kainulainen (Joellyn) of Negaunee, Terry Kainulainen (Patti) of Negaunee and Mike Kainulainen (Kim) of Ishpeming; her grandchildren, Ryan Kainulainen (Alexis), Adam Kainulainen (Amy), Amanda Kainulainen, Sara Kainulainen, Kylee Leyerer (Phil) and Brandon Kainulainen (Anna); her great grandchildren, Raelynn, Layla Kainulainen, Sophie and Bennett Leyerer; and her sisters, Mary Burgan, Alice Kolka, Margie Andrews (Bob) and Sandy Kilpela (George). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in both Oliver and Helene's memory to Eastwood Nursing Center's Activity Fund and/or the Negaunee All-Sports Booster Club.
