He was predeceased by: his parents, Levi Lloyd and Ella Mae VanLuven (Cairns); his stepfather Fred Alderton; his sisters, Penny Carlson and Patti Nickerson; his niece Angie Nickerson; and his stepsiblings, Sandra LeClair and Barry Alderton.

He is survived by: his siblings, Elaine Anderson of Ishpeming, Marsha Fraser of Ishpeming, Fred VanLuven of National Mine and Tammy Daily of Iowa; his stepsister Janet Talentino-Jones of Anchorage, AK.; and his daughter Aza. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
